Demystifying SPACs
In 2020, there were 248 SPAC (Special Purpose Acquisition Company) IPOs raising over $83bn, representing approximately one-half of all capital raised by SPACs since 2003. In 2021 to date, there have been another 274 SPAC IPOs raising $80bn, with 419 SPACs in the market searching for acquisition targets.
