NYAC Series: "Working with a Damages/Quantum Expert" Session 9 - Finale
Time: 6:00 - 7:45 PM EST
Freshfields’ International Arbitration Partner & Head of International Arbitration – Americas Elliot Friedman and Partner Lee Rovinescu will be speaking on a panel titled “Working with a Damages/Quantum Expert” organized by the New York International Arbitration Center taking place in New York on June 24, 2024.
Share this event with your colleagues and connections on social media.
In this session, counsel and quantum experts will discuss different non-traditional areas in which quantum experts can contribute their expertise. The panelists will discuss:
- The issue of causation and how the legal team and economic experts can work together in developing robust analyses to support the cause/effect relationship between the alleged breach and quantum of damages;
- How a quantum expert can effectively and efficiently rebut the opposing side’s damages assessment (e.g., the tension between creating original analysis and correcting opposing side’s analysis); and
- The role of the quantum expert in early-stages of cases in preparing preliminary assessments with limited information (e.g., to inform litigation funders and other stakeholders).
The panelists will rely on war stories and examples to foster the discussions.
Other speakers on this panel include Jessica Beess und Chrostin (Partner, King & Spalding), Andrea Cardani (Partner, AlixPartners), Nilufar Hossain (Investment Manager & Legal Counsel, Omni Bridgeway), Edward G. Kehoe (Partner, King & Spalding), Isabel S. Kunsman (Partner, & Managing Director, AlixPartners), and Greig Taylor (Partner & Managing Director, AlixPartner).
This panel will be followed by a Networking reception.
