About Joe Williams

Joe is an associate in our London tax practice and advises corporates, financial institutions and investment funds across a variety of business sectors.

Joe advises on the tax aspects of a range of transactional and advisory matters, including private and public M&A transactions, financings and corporate restructurings.

Joe trained at Freshfields and has spent time on secondment to Freshfields' Amsterdam office.

  • Advising Compass Group on its £475m acquisition of CH&CO, a group of specialist food contracting and hospitality businesses
  • Advising CVC Capital Partners on its acquisition of DIF Capital Partners, a leading infrastructure fund manager
  • Advising Entain on its acquisition of Angstrom Sports, a specialist provider of next generation sports modelling, forecasting and data analytics
  • Advising London Stock Exchange Group on its ground-breaking 10 year strategic partnership with Microsoft for next-generation AI, data, analytics and cloud infrastructure solutions
  • Advising Allfunds on its acquisition of Mainstreet Partners, an ESG investment solutions provider
  • Advising Li & Fung on the US$3.6bn sale of LF Logistics to Maersk and its long-term strategic partnership with Maersk
  • Advising Petershill Partners plc, an alternative investment company, on its £1.2bn IPO on the London Stock Exchange and pre-IPO corporate reorganisation
  • Advising CVC Capital Partners on its acquisition of Glendower Capital, a private equity firm focussing on secondary transactions which spun out of Deutsche Bank's asset management business in 2017
  • Advising Allfunds on its €1.88bn IPO on Euronext Amsterdam
  • Advising ZPG on the acquisition of Confused.com and European insurance-focused comparison platforms from Admiral plc, for £500m
  • Advising Telereal Trillium on the following notes issuances in respect of its secured bond financings of the BT property portfolio: £270m Class A-6 and £35m Class B-2 Notes (2021), £179m Class A-3 and £76m Class A-4 Notes (2022) and £255m Class B-3 Notes (2024)
