About Pierre Vibert

Pierre is a senior associate in the financial regulation practice of our Paris office advising financial institutions.

Pierre advises on financial services regulatory matters in an advisory, transactional and litigation context. His main areas of practice include:

  • assisting clients on the regulatory aspects of M&A and Private Equity transactions involving financial institutions;
  • advising in relation to the provision of banking, markets and insurance services and activities and managing relations with the regulatory authorities;
  • advising on organisational and conduct of business rules applicable to regulated financial activities in France; and
  • assisting clients in regulatory investigations and enforcement actions before French and European regulatory authorities.

Pierre has also developed a particular expertise in insurance law, advising numerous insurance brokers and insurance and reinsurance companies on the regulatory aspects of their activities.

Recent work

  • Advising a major French insurance group on the reorganisation of its activities in Europe.
  • Advising a major European insurance group on the acquisition of an insurance company and other related financial institutions in France.
  • Assisting a European insurer in an enforcement action brought by the EIOPA.
  • Assisting a French company in an enforcement action by the French National Sanctions Commission in relation to AML regulations.
  • Assisting a global e-commerce company with its PSD2-related activities and relations with French regulators.
  • Advising several international banking groups on the reorganisation of their private banking activities in France.
  • Advising foreign investment banks in relation to their Brexit planning and MiFID II implementation.
