About Bob van Kasteren

Bob specialises in international tax advice, in particular in the area of mergers and acquisitions, finance transactions, restructurings and cross-border investments.

He furthermore advises clients on recent international tax developments, such as the OECD Pillars and state aid risks.

Bob is co-head of the firm's Diversity and Inclusion Committee and of the Tax Knowledge and Business Development group. He speaks Dutch and English.

Recent work

  • Advising E.ON (including its Dutch subsidiary Essent) on the disposal of its Dutch mid-market power and gas B2B business to Eneco, a Netherlands-based energy company owned by Mitsubishi and Chubu Electric Power
  • Advising Marubeni Corporation on its proposed staged acquisition of 100% of the shares in Euroma Holding B.V. from a consortium of sellers, including its former CEO, Netherlands-based private equity firm Parcom and a number of smaller selling shareholders. Euroma is a Netherlands-based global leader in the origination, blending, grinding, packaging and distribution of spices and spice-based solutions
  • GIC and APG on the agreement to acquire a substantial stake in The Student Hotel , valuing the latter (including its assets currently under development) at EUR 2.1 billion
  • Accenture on the acquisition of the Netherlands, Belgium and Bulgaria based businesses of Sentia group, a leading cloud consulting company providing advisory and delivery services spanning hybrid and multi cloud strategy, cloud transformation and migration
  • Advising CVC Capital Partners on EUR 4.5 billion acquisition of ekaterra, the holding company of the global Unilever Teas business
  • Advising Warburg Pincus and Apax on the acquisition of T-Mobile Netherlands, the Dutch fixed and mobile communication services business, for an enterprise value of EUR 5.1 billion from Deutsche Telekom and Tele2 of Sweden
  • Advising Talpa Network on the proposed merger with RTL Nederland of their respective broadcasting and affiliated media businesses in the Netherlands
  • Advising Ardian on the acquisition of Deli Home, a leading Dutch made-to-measure manufacturer and distributor of high quality timber-based home improvement products such as doors, storage and floors
