About Chantelle Nicholas
Chantelle advises across a broad spectrum of topics relating to employment, incentives and pensions law in advisory, transactional and contentious contexts.
Chantelle has extensive experience of advising on employment, incentives and pensions issues across a number of complex cross-border corporate transactions, both public and private. She regularly advises on executive appointments and terminations and the establishment and operation of employee share schemes.
Chantelle's practice also involves helping employers navigate tricky situations, from advising on employer interactions with employee representative bodies to crisis management. She has assisted employers in their defence of unfair dismissal, whistleblowing and discrimination claims in the Employment Tribunal and breach of contract claims in the English courts (including in the Court of Appeal).
In 2014, Chantelle spent six months on secondment to the Freshfields' management office working alongside the management team on matters of strategic importance to the firm.
In 2016, Chantelle spent seven months on secondment to the Office of General Counsel at Deloitte LLP in London, where she worked closely with the Deloitte UK General Counsel.
Chantelle co-chaired the Freshfields London Associate Women's Network Committee from 2017 to 2019 and had a key role in developing the firm's Every Day Gender Equality commitment.
