About Nigel Gleeson

Nigel is a partner in our global transactions group based in Singapore and heads our M&A practice in Southeast Asia.

His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions and private capital investments for financial sponsors – including private equity houses, pension / infrastructure funds and sovereign linked investors – across sectors and the APAC region.

He has previously spent time working in our London and New York offices, and has been based in Singapore since 2012.

 

Recent work

  • Blackstone on investments across APAC, including the US$1.2bn sale of Soilbuild industrial real estate assets to a Warburg Pincus-Lendlease JV; its US$800m Tamarind Energy partnership; and the proposed US$10bn take private of Singapore listed Global Logistics Properties.
  • A KKR led consortium (along with Singtel) on their US$2.2 billion investment into STT GDC the global data centre business.
  • KKR on its S$1.1 billion investment in Nxera, Singtel’s regional data centre business valued at S$5.5 billion.
  • TPG and the Hong Leong Group on the US$306m acquisition from IHH Healthcare of its medical education arm, International Medical University in Malaysia.
  • CPP Investments on its APAC investments, including the US$332m infrastructure investment in L&T IDPL; its US$1.3bn joint venture with IndoSpace; and its US$800m investment in Flipkart Group.
  • OTPP on its investment in Princeton Digital Group, the APAC data centre business.
  • General Atlantic on its invesments in Garena Online / Sea Ltd (SEA ecommerce), Ruanguru (Indonesia edtech) and VNLife (Vietnam payments).
  • Advent International on the disposal of its interest in Quest Global the Indian engineering business to Carlyle
  • Quadria Capital on the sale of 100% of its interest in FV Hospital in Vietnam to Thomson Medical.
  • GIC on its investment in Vinmec, the Vietnam-based private hospital operator.
  • Growtheum Capital Partners on its investment in International Dairy Products (the Vietnamese diary manufacturer).
  • Nexif Energy Management on its APAC renewable energy platforms with each of Denham Capital and RATCH Energy and the sale of its portfolio of Australian and Southeast Asian energy assets to the Thai-listed RATCH Group PLC.
