About Christine Chong
Christine is an associate in our Data Privacy and Security practice in Silicon Valley, focused on helping clients develop privacy and data protection strategies, modernize data compliance programs for our data-driven future, and negotiate agreements to leverage and protect data. Christine regularly advises on ethical data use, regulatory and enforcement developments, and cross-functional data objectives to meet the challenges of the evolving privacy and cybersecurity law landscape.
Prior to joining Freshfields, Christine spent time with the European Commission’s International Data Flows and Protection unit in Brussels, Belgium for a semester as a trainee.
Recent work
Multinational organizations:
Developing privacy compliance programs, including privacy-related terms for customer and vendor agreements, internal and external privacy and data protection policies, cross-border data transfer mechanisms, and internal privacy governance frameworks and procedures.
Regulator inquiries and consumer complaints:
Responding to US regulators and consumer complaint escalations regarding allegations of noncompliance with US state privacy law.
