Jan specialises in litigation and arbitration and advises national and international clients in all areas of business and commercial law with a special focus on antitrust litigation.
In recent years, Jan has developed an extensive expertise in several complex cartel damages proceedings. He also advises on climate change-related liability.

Recent work
- Defending clients in and out of court against cartel damages claims following decisions by the European Commission and the German Federal Cartel Office inter alia in relation to the rail track, trucks, and hydrogen peroxide cartels.
- Defending a German pharmaceutical manufacturer in ICC arbitration proceedings under Swiss law against the US distributor of certain pharmaceuticals claiming damages amounting to $228m.
- Representing a German gas supply company in ad-hoc arbitration proceedings against payment claims from a supply consortium.
