Described by The New York Times as “a guru to Wall Street’s gurus,” Bruce is an authority on value investing with additional expertise in productivity and the economics of information. Bruce has received numerous awards for teaching, including the Columbia University Presidential Teaching Award. Since 2007 Bruce has served as director of research for First Eagle Funds, where he is currently a senior advisor.
Bruce’s books include Competition Demystified: A Radically Simplified Approach to Business Strategy (with Judd Kahn), Value Investing: From Graham to Buffett and Beyond (with Judd Kahn, et al), The Curse of the Mogul: What’s Wrong with the World’s Leading Media Companies (with Jonathan A. Knee and Ava Seave) and Adverse Selection in the Labor Market.
Bruce holds a BS and PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MPA and MS from Princeton University.
